Tru Soul Food | Our Story
Family recipes, Southern soul, one bite at a time
Tru Soul Food Kitchen was born from Pamela Bullock's family recipes — passed down through generations of cooking together in Creedmoor, North Carolina. She opened the doors in December 2020 so everyone could have a seat at the table.
How it started
Pamela opened Tru Soul Food right in the middle of Covid — a bold move rooted in pure belief that good food and genuine hospitality were exactly what the community needed. Creedmoor embraced her immediately, and they've been coming back ever since.
The recipes behind every plate
The menu is built on time-honored family dishes — oxtails, catfish, fried chicken, turkey wings, and legendary mac and cheese. Every plate carries bold seasoning and genuine care that no shortcut can replicate.
When you walk in, you're family
Pamela comes out personally to thank every guest — because to her, you're not a customer, you're company. On Sundays, live piano turns the lounge into a place you don't want to leave.
Growing the legacy
What started as a family affair in small-town Creedmoor is now growing across North Carolina — with the same spirit of belonging carried to every new table. Run by family, fueled by tradition, and built to last.
